Free time for Presidency and the Press participants

It’s not all work and no play at the Presidency and the Press media conference at Franklin Pierce University. High school students participating in the program have numerous opportunities to enjoy what the campus has to offer.

Although the participants enjoy their work in the program, they are also very excited for the leisure time that they earn and deserve after working hard. This time includes one to two hours of free time that they get before eating dinner.

Besides providing a breathtaking view for people at the university, Pearly Pond is also the primary location for refreshing and lively activities on campus. Some of these activities include kayaking, swimming, and paddle boarding.

17-year-old participant in the Presidency and the Press, Katie Silverman, gave her opinion on kayaking in the pond. “I really enjoy kayaking on Pearly Pond because I don’t get that opportunity very often where I’m from.”

Further days in the program will bring even more activities, such as volleyball, that the students will be able to partake in.
