Incoming freshman prepares for Mass Communication major

Presidency and the Press participant Tim Nazzaro is saving the knowledge he has acquired over this week to use during his freshman year at Franklin Pierce University while he studies Mass Communication.

Nazzaro has a passion for writing journalism along with the exploring other fields such as audio, video and editing. He worked on his school newspaper staff for a semester of his junior year in high school and also worked the audio board during their morning announcements. Nazzaro received an email from Franklin Pierce University informing him of their upcoming program, the Presidency and the Press. Knowing his major would be incorporated, Nazzaro saw this conference as an opportunity he could not pass up.

“I love the interactive aspect that comes along with journalism,” said Nazzaro.

Although Nazzaro will be studying Mass Communication in the fall, choosing a single interest has not come easy to him. He has an interest in filming, audio and editing, a task that he was able to witness first-hand while spending time at WMUR channel 9 in Manchester, NH. However, he also enjoys writing articles. While spending time at the Presidency and the Press conference, Nazzaro has been able to narrow down his interests.

“It [The Presidency and the Press] has definitely helped me pick out the parts that I like,” said Nazzaro.

As Nazzaro leaves the Presidency in the Press with new information,  he better envisions his future in the field of journalism.
