Derek Scalia and Jacob Avery said being in a political campaign involves a lot of dedication and hard work.

Scalia and Avery have served as campaign staff in state elections. Scalia has worked for Democrats while Avery has worked for Republicans.

A typical workweek before the primary is absolutely tiresome. Their schedule persists of working almost all day, every day of the week.

The public may not always see what goes on behind the scenes. The campaign team can completely make or break an election.

Avery describes the hard work that he has done. Not only do you have to speak to the public about supporting the campaign but you also have to make sure volunteers are content. “When working in November the weather is freezing, I had like 30 sweatshirts and supplies to help fill their needs” said Avery.

Scalia states that at the end of the day during campaigning they would have to have a huge conference call with everyone in the staff to make sure things are running well on schedule and everything is getting done.
